    1. Legend says Newton discovered gravity around 1665 while he was outside and observed and apple falling from a tree. Ne realized that the force that caused the apple to fall to the ground is the same force that causes the moon to orbit the earth.

  2. If two objects move farther away from each other does the amount of gravity increase or decrease?

    1. As the distance between two objects increases, the gravitational force decreases.

  3. Why does the force of gravity change depending on the mass and/or weight of an object?

    1. the force between two objects is determined by the mass of each object and the distance between their centers. Objects with greater amounts of mass have a greater gravitational pull, but as the objects become further apart, the gravitational force between them decreases. This relationship between mass and force of gravity was discovered by Isaac Newton. His law states that the force of gravity between two objects is an inverse proportionality in relationship to the distance between them,

    1. If the objects were large enough to have a force of gravity, then the speed of the objects would increase as they became further apart.

  5. In baseball, would the pitchers mass play any role on the velocity of the baseball all things equal?

    1. Yes, more mass would allow for larger amounts of force to transfer into the baseball as quickly as possible.
