    1) If you were to compare the different terrestrial planets, what do they have in common?

    2) Why is the surface of Venus hotter than the Earths?

    3) Why is Mars red?

  4. 1. To compare all the terrestrial planets, for starters they are all round. All of them orbit the sun, and they are all in the same solar system. All the planets are Earth-like meaning they are all made up of rocks or metals with a hard surface, they also all have a molten heavy metal core, and few moons. They also have topological features such as craters, volcanoes, and valleys.

    2. Venus surface is hotter due to the greenhouse effect. Venus's atmosphere is about 90 times thicker than Earth's, and is made almost entirely of carbon dioxide.

    3. Mars is red because of the reaction between iron and oxygen. There is iron within the dust on Mars, the dust reaction with oxygen produces the red color.
